SweetPTheEntertainer.com was founded by music producer, singer, songwriter, engineer and performer Sweet P. He knew from conception that music was the one thing he was born to do. He began his musical journey in the gritty projects of Griffin, GA USA (one hour south of Atlanta, Georgia) and this is where his ears where first tickled by the sweet melodic sounds of Bob Marley, George Benson, Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, Prince and his biggest most influential inspiration the ever so gifted and talented Mr. Michael Jackson. Listening to the smooth sounds of “old school” R&B/Soul as well as top 40 radio was an everyday priority in his household. He states, “I can’t remember a day growing up without music being played throughout our house. Still to this day I come to my own place and I’ll just have to bang the stereo as loud as possible to hear the latest hits on the radio!”
It was around the age of 12 when he began to expand his music palette by listening to and developing a love for light rock artist’s & bands from the 80’s such as Sting, Genesis, The Police, Toto, Don Henley, Spander Ballet, Oreo Speedwagon, Hall & Oats, Simply Red, Cindy Lauper, Phil Collins and the list goes on and on.
“I just loved the 80’s music era. It seems like they were simple melodies but very memorable songs. To me the 60’s and the 80’s were the best periods thorough out our history of music!” His many influences led him to pursue a career as a recording artist performing in thousands of showcases where he began to craft his artistic abilities. He joined various singing groups in his local area along with his brother who was at the time a hot budding young music producer. After performing in talent shows, nightclubs and parties throughout the city of “Hotlanta”, Sweet P decided that it was music production and behind the scenes that really sparked his interest after watching his older brother “throw down” on some original compositions. “It seemed like he just had mad production skills for his age. My brother was like a genius to me musically and I wanted to produce music like him!” After studying his brother’s production sessions with various singing groups, Sweet P took some keyboard & guitar lessons from him as well as song & vocal arrangements too. He soon found himself producing music for other local artist as well as for the various singing groups he performed with and after doing thousands of shows all over his local city to create a buzz for his groups, he decided to head to college where he'd take up Classical & Jazz Piano along with Acoustic Guitar for the next five years to further his musical abilities.
After years of honing his vocals, live performance, music production, engineering & songwriting skills he decided that moving to Los Angeles would be more advantageous towards his vision. He’s currently establishing himself as one of the hottest independent artist/producer's on the local scene as well as on the internet. He’s not only produced Hip-Hop for young rappers but also R&B, Pop and Rock music for budding vocalist seeking opportunities in the big city. He also likes to mix genres to create interesting melodies that gives him a unique sound unlike any other. “I try not to limit myself and that’s directly due to the many influences I was exposed to growing up. I love all genres of music and have learned to appreciate them.” With an experienced history of producing & writing for other artist's under his belt he's now ready to leave that scene behind and venture off into establishing himself as an International Pop Artist while producing, writing and engineering his own albums. "I have no limits to what I'll bring to the world as an Artist and with my music. I love so many types of music I feel that people will connect with what I'm doing automatically because they'll already be familiar with the sounds I was heavily influenced by growing up. I'm virtually limitless!!" Sweet P has sold over 35,000 records independently all over the streets of America within a span of about four years!
Sweet P created the “SweetPTheEntertainer.com” website to allow the world to come and see what he can bring to the table as a musician and as well as an Artist/Entertainer. Sweet P states: "I want people to come to my site and connect with me personally so that they can sense the realness and the passion I have for my music. I've established my own independent record label entitled "Rich Dreams Music" so that I can put my own music out there the way that I want to without a major record label behind me.
